Chapter 94

Still neither of them moved, just lying together with Sara’s leg thrown over Jon, keeping him close, gazing at each other until Sara finally gave a defeated groan.

“I need to get up. I need to shower and get ready. Finish packing, too, I suppose.”

She rolled onto her back, moving away from Jon, but he shifted too, moving to lie between her thighs, pinning her to the bed with his weight. When she looked up at him, although she smiled, he could see the sadness, and he bent his head to kiss her, unable to bear the pain in her eyes. At first her response was subdued, then her mouth turned hungry under his, her fingers twining in his hair, and he could hear her whimpering as she tried to pull him closer, her tongue deep in his mouth, the kiss turning more violent until they finally tore apart, both gasping for breath.

“Aaaah, shit.” Jon breathed, resting his forehead on Sara’s. “Are you sure we can’t just stay here in bed? Do we really have to leave?”

“Don’t tempt me.” She replied, then her voice firmed. “Actually, I really mean that. Please don’t tempt me, Jon. I have to go and finish this commission. I just don’t know if I’m strong enough to leave you. Don’t make this harder than it has to be.”

“Harder?” He laughed, trying to lighten their mood a little. “You wanted ‘harder’ yesterday.”

She did laugh at that, pushing him off her so he fell on his back. “I still do, but I need to go get ready. Why don’t you make some coffee while I have a shower?”

“I don’t know.” Jon grumbled jokingly, letting Sara get out of bed this time. “You wake me up so you can have your wicked way with me, then I get relegated to coffee-making once you’ve had your fill of me.”

Sara looked back at him as she picked up her hairbrush.

“I’ll never have had my fill of you, Jon.” She said softly, quickly turning away and heading into the bathroom, leaving him lying on the bed with that smug, shit-eating grin plastered on his face.

When she emerged from the bathroom, tiny wisps of steam rising off her shoulders from the heat of the water, Jon was sitting under the cover, coffee in hand, staring down into the liquid.

“Penny for them?” Sara said quietly, then she laughed as Jon looked up at her. “That reminds me of a shirt I saw once. It said ‘Penny for your thoughts. Twenty bucks to act them out’.”

Jon laughed and looked around. “Damn, where did I put my wallet?” He joked. “I know I’ve got twenty bucks somewhere.”

They were both taking refuge in humour, trying hard not to think about the upcoming parting, and Sara picked up her coffee, taking it across to the window and gazing out at the beach. Jon got out of bed and hugged her briefly, then dropped a kiss on her shoulder.

“Guess I’ll go take a shower, too.”

“Okay.” She said softly, not looking at him, and Jon moved away toward the bathroom, leaving her standing by the window.

As he walked away, Sara surreptitiously raised a hand to wipe away the tears from her cheeks, not realising Jon was watching her. He didn’t say anything, though, just continued to the shower silently, not wanting her to know he’d seen her crying again, knowing she was trying so hard to be strong. He took his time in the shower, giving Sara a little time to herself, and when he finally came back into the bedroom she was leaning on the windowsill again, but fully dressed now. Her bags were packed and lying on the bed, and her hair was pulled back into a knot at the back of her head again. She turned when Jon came through, and he smiled when he saw she was wearing her new ‘Surf Babe’ shirt with her jeans.

“Nice shirt, gorgeous.” He told her as he dropped his towel to the floor and pulled on a pair of jeans.

“I love it. It’s kinda quirky - just like me.”

She’d managed to push the tears away, smiling brightly at Jon, who wasn’t fooled for a second, but played along. He grabbed his t shirt and pulled it over his head, then grinned at Sara.

“Ready for breakfast?”

“Yep. Let’s go. Well, once you’ve put your shoes on.”

Finally ready, they left the bedroom and walked down to the dining room where they managed to secure the same table as before. The hotel owner took their orders for coffee then left them to help themselves to fruit and cereal. Jon went this time, returning with a heaped bowl of fruit and two glasses of juice. Sara picked at the fruit, nibbling on a chunk of melon without enthusiasm. When the waitress came to take their order, Jon was amazed to hear Sara say she just wanted toast, but he waited until the girl had gone before he said anything about it.

“What’s wrong? You don’t want anything else?”

She shook her head. “I’m not hungry. I’m ……….. well, I’m just not hungry.”

Jon reached across the table and took her hand, smiling a little sadly at her. Sara smiled back at him, then her lips trembled and she looked away, gazing out of the window as Jon squeezed her hand, feeling her grip on his fingers tightening as she fought her wayward emotions. After a few minutes, she looked back at him, eyes wet but back in control of herself, and she gave him a twisted smile.

“You know, this was so much easier when I was trying to hate you.” She said sardonically. “I’m not good at saying goodbye anyway, but this is so damn difficult.”

“I’ll make you a deal.” Jon suggested. “Why don’t we say our goodbye up in the room here, then we won’t say anything at the airport. Just pretend we’ll see each other tomorrow.”

“Sounds good to me. You do not need me embarrassing you at the airport, crying all over you.”

“And why would I be embarrassed to have a beautiful woman sad to see me leave?” He asked with a grin, and Sara smiled more genuinely now.

“There you go, saying exactly the right thing again. You really are a charmer, aren’t you?”

Lifting her hand to his lips, kissing her knuckles, Jon grinned. “Only with you, darlin’. Only with you.”

The waitress brought the food, and Sara forced herself to eat some toast, though she really wasn’t hungry. Jon wasn’t much better, toying with the food on his plate, though he did eat some of it when Sara chided him, reminding him he had a long journey.

“Yes, mommy.” He muttered with a cheeky grin, wincing when Sara kicked him under the table.

“Less of your smart-mouth, mister, or I’ll have to spank you.”

The comment backfired on her, though, when Jon grinned, his eyes lighting up at the suggestion.

“Really? How bad do I have to be before you do that, then?”

Sara started to giggle, and Jon joined her in laughter as the waitress came to take away the plates, then they stood up to leave the dining room, still laughing as they headed upstairs, back to the bedroom.

Entering the room, Jon was suddenly pressed hard against Sara’s back, his lips on her neck, and she pushed her hips back on him, rubbing herself against his groin and feeling his reaction.

“Lock the door.” He muttered, one hand on her stomach, holding her against him, while the other hand came between them to unfasten her bra.

She got the key into the lock and turned it, badly distracted by Jon’s hand pushing her bra up out of the way, his fingers wrapping around her breast. Sara gave a moan, twisting her head around to kiss Jon, though he held her firmly against his body, preventing her from turning all the way around. His hand dropped from her stomach, unbuttoning her jeans so he could push down behind the scrap of cloth she called panties, his fingers sliding low beneath her, pressing against her clit and feeling her breath catch in her throat as the tip of a finger slipped inside.

Sara managed to get her hand around behind her, working by touch to find Jon’s waistband, trying to unfasten his jeans. She tried again to turn, but Jon grabbed her hands and pushed them up onto the wall, then he pulled her jeans and panties down to her knees. His own jeans made it to his thighs, and he held tightly to her hips as the head of his cock brushed into her entrance, then he rammed into her from behind, Sara gasping but pushing back against him, arms braced on the wall as Jon moved one hand back onto her breast, thrusting into her again. She could feel him inside her, pressing hard against the sensitive spot each time he drove into her, and she was already getting close to orgasm, their position against the wall driving her far ahead of Jon.

His name was a sob on her lips as she came, forcing herself to stay upright though her knees trembled from the force of it, and Jon growled softly as he felt her tightening around him, gripping her hips to pull her higher, so he could drive deeper inside. Sara arched her back, letting Jon’s hands position her as he wanted, and she felt his movements quicken, short strokes slamming rapidly into her as he came, his fingers curling hard into her hips.

Oh, baby.” He groaned as he tried to relax his grip on her. “Baby, that’s not what I meant to happen.”

“Huh?” Sara was only half-listening, still reeling from the almost violent encounter.

“I wanted to make love to you before we left.” Jon gently eased himself out of Sara, turning her to face him. “And instead I end up throwing you against the wall and fucking you the second we hit the room.”

Sara chuckled, stroking her fingers across the frown lines on his forehead. “I’m not complaining, baby. Not in the least.” She kissed him tenderly. “When do we need to leave?”

A crooked grin hung on his lips as he glanced at his watch. “We’ve got an hour, darlin’. Let’s go back to bed.”

Giggling, Sara stroked his face again. “Poor baby. Are you tired?”

“Not yet.”
